Life As A Broke College Student
Broke and in college…
Broke in college is the worst. Originally I didn’t get a job because I wanted to focus on school but I instantly regret that decision. Now I’m looking for a job that will put just enough money in my pocket so I can do something as simple as buying food without running to Mommy and Daddy for money. I, like most of you, are on the verge of entering the world of adulthood so asking my parents for money seems a little childish to me but without their help I’m basically broke. I want my parents to see me as an adult…but them being my main source of income doesn’t help the situation and being a girl just makes it worse. I have necessities, and yes I am counting getting my hair and nails done as a necessity, sue me.
You know the struggle is real when you can’t even get a job on campus. I knew money was gonna be tight in college but this is ridiculous. Being in school this is my first lesson in money management and you know what they say, “experience is the best teacher.” This is really making me realize how much shit I have to pay for as an adult. Between food, hair, nails, and the miscellaneous activities we all know college students participate in, I’m not sure which is making my pockets hurt more. Its obvious that there is only one thing to do, to save money…budget my coins. Cutting back on expenses can hurt but the amount of money you save at the end of the month will put a guaranteed smile on your face.
PS: Sending positive vibes to all that are looking for jobs!
