Amazon Announces Prime Day

Amazon’s 20th birthday is coming up and their celebrating by giving you the best deal of the year, better than Black Friday. Starting at midnight EST on July 15th, new deals will be running every 10 minutes, coming from every product category, from clothing to electronics to books and whatever else you could be looking foramazon-gold-box

Here’s the catch. It’s only available for Amazon Prime users in the US, the UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, and Austria.

The sale event is said to be part of the company’s plan to get more regular Amazon users to switch to Prime. Last month, Amazon introduced same-day rapid delivery service called Prime Now. According to research done by the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, Prime users spend more than double the average amount than Amazon customers in a year. About $1,500 compared to about $625.

A nice way around the Amazon Prime requirement for Prime Day is to sign up for the 30-day-free-trial of Prime membership just before July 15th to still get access to the discounts. Then just unsubscribe by the end of the trial and you’re good to go!

As another part of the campaign, Amazon introduced #PrimeLiving, a photo contest where the winner can win $10,000 in Amazon gift cards.cd_pinata_800x350._V316714669_

I’m gonna go sign up for that now because I have quite the Amazon wish-list.
