Flash Back Post: Dorm Room Television sits down with Author Adrienne Thompson for an exclusive interview
This past Sunday Dorm Room Television took another small step towards reaching more people and launched on blog talk radio. Blog talk radio is a way to set up your own online blog radio station, I wanted to set this up for some time because I wanted to interview people who were in other states and at times in other countries and was not able to reach them because of distance. Now with blog talk radio I can interview people from all over the world and listeners can listen in live or listen to archived shows.
My very first blog talk radio interview was with the amazing author Adrienne Thompson. I stumbled upon her trying to find some new books to read. I chose to read, “Been So Long,” then I read “Been So Long 2, and just had to read “Little Sister.” All books were in order and a continuing story but I ended up reading all 3 books in one day and could not put them down. One after the next until I had finished the “Mona-Lisa, Corey, and Wassif saga”(characters in Been So Long) that I realized that she had a total of 8 books online that she wrote.
I became so engulfed in the books that I stopped for a minute and thought to myself “Wouldn’t it be amazing if I could interview this author?”
Book Author Adrienne Thompson
The the thought came and went just that quick because in the back of my mind all I could think was “Why on earth would she agree to be interviewed by me?” But against my own fears I reached out to her and she actually responded and agreed to do the interview. What made me want to sit down and speak with Ms. Thompson was the way her real life story read it reminded me of a strong Maya Angelou poem. The first lines in her bio reads like this, “Married at sixteen, a mother twice by seventeen, and thrice a mother and divorced by twenty-four, Adrienne Thompson is no stranger to adversity. Not your typical teenage mother, she went on to complete her college degree and to earn her nursing license. She attributes God’s faithfulness as the catalyst for her success in life.”
When I read that I instantly wanted to know how someone with such an interesting past was able to go on and write 8 number one books on amazon.com. I was also amazed that she had published all these amazing books back to back. Please listen below for the full interview with author Adrienne Thompson.
