‘Game of Thrones’ Returns
Game of Thrones is BACK!
The twisted, beloved HBO series “Game of Thrones” will premiere its sixth season tonight at 9 pm. Viewers haven’t a clue of what to expect from the characters on this new season, as some of the show’s content has not been taken directly from any existing novels. However, we know with certainty that blood will be shed, love will be made, and chaos will ensue.
The last season of “Game of Thrones” left many questions unanswered.
The finale of season five ended brutally with the betrayal and death of Jon Snow, bastard son of the deceased Ned Stark and Commander of the Night’s Watch. Although he is dead, actor Kit Harington has hinted that his character may somehow make a return. How, and will, Jon Snow rise from the dead?
Daenerys Targaryen, the “rightful” queen of Westeros, has been working tirelessly to gain allies and support so she can take control of the Iron Throne. She attempts to take over the great slave city of Meereen, but is almost killed by the Sons of Harpy, a violent underground group composed of former slaves, who refuse to exist under another reign. Daenerys narrowly escapes on one of her dragons, due to the unexpected help of Tyrion Lannister and Jorah Mormont. In season six, will she finally make it to Westeros?
Another character viewers expect to make a big comeback is Bran Stark. Completely absent in season five, Bran has been exploring his psychic powers which have the potential to change events and take over the minds and bodies of others. Has he completed his quest to find the Three-Eyed Raven, and how will his actions influence the characters he re-encounters?
The complexity of the characters of “Game of Thrones” and the numerous plot lines that co-exist within the world of Westeros ensure an exciting upcoming season.
